Re: Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving, while Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, living or dead.
It is celebrated on the last Monday of May.

Spend some time at a memorial service if you can.
Most towns have them and the stories you often hear will help you appreciate those who paid the ultimate price.

Re: Memorial Day
I took the kids to the local memorial Day service in our town. Lots of flags, veterans and long speeches.
The kids were bored after a while but I liked it. Very sad though.

Re: Memorial Day
It is good to remember the sacrifice of those who defend this country. The dead should be remembered and the living respected. Whenever I am in a restaurant uniformed soldiers never pay for meals. I was in the Memorial day Parade in my city this morning, and from my rank in the back enjoyed the sound of the pipes playing Grand Old Flag. It was a good day to be an American

Re: Memorial Day
My Dad is one of the few who went through 3 major wars. WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam. I talked to him to day and he could not get through talking about all he has seen without loosing it. He said Memorial Day brings back some hard memories. Even though I spent my time in the Navy I still hard to comprehend what all those many who have died had gone through and what their families have gone through, and some still going through.
