Banned cause of same IP!?

I´m (jesus btw) banned cause someone of my student dorm has (well its always like that if u live in a student dorm) the same IP and made shit?? Thats where i live: http://www.deggendorfer-studentenviertel.de/home.html
And ET is a very popular game here (we often play together on Lan Server etc etc..)

I think its unfair to ban me just because someone else made mistakes. Yea this guy was having his fun talking shit, but why the hell am i punished for that? (@selene: U sayed u banned me cause i have same IP, thats no real reason, implicting i have made no mistake)

Cant u just ban him by his etkey, etproid whatever so that i and the other who live in the dorm can play as usual???

You know that changing etkey is awfully easy and he would just come back. You are automatically banned, b/c that's how the ban system works. Same IP = ban. I can't do anything about it, sorry. You participated in this stuff by not stopping him from illegal actions (such actions may have actual legal consequences), therefore you have to deal with it.

When you saw what he's doing, you could tell him to stop (he had few chances). There is no way for me to see when I unban your IP, if it's not him playing.

You have to be responsible in the Internet. Irresponsible people should have their Internet access limited (what I have just done for you).

im sorry but are u joking me?? I dont know who played of all that students who live here?? How should i know who that guy was?? And why am i responsible for what another one does in the internet?? I didnt tell him to write sexual stuff ( i dont even remember what he sayed?! why should i remember stuff that a stranger writes)

With ur argumentation u would have to ban everyone who was on the server the same time this guy was there?!

Yes, if you share the IP with law abusers, a good idea is to buy a VPN/having your own connection.

Are you suggesting I should unban a law abuser? (rethorical question)

Hello Jesus, very sorry to hear of your ban. Upon hearing from both sides, and seeing the hard evidence; the right action was taken.

Let me explain. We've had this same situation play out before, although it was through a public library's network. One person started cheating, and upon investigation, we discovered that there were multiple people using the same IP. Through further scrutiny, we found out it was through a public library. We had over 15+ people coming in through that IP, and although the numbers of new players are welcome; the rule breaking was not. 

We tried our best to eliminate just the rule breakers and cheaters, but it isn't possible when the unwanted player could just log into a different computer and play away. So we had to, unfortunately, ban the IP.

This was not the case here, to an extent. We banned just him, but since you have the same IP, it banned you as well. We're sorry that it has inconvenienced you, as well as any other 'clean' player that chooses to play here; but there is nothing that can be done.
