Random maps

Hi guys, any chance to add old maps like fueldump on server again? I really like them but they are not played... And if we can have some topic to choose every week new maps for server, I mean is getting booring if we play the same maps over and over again....
The server is great, but I'm sure that the players will enjoy some changes around here...

But I know it's a lot of work for Selene & Obituary to manage all. When you have time, this would be interesting.

There has recently been *massive effort expended by both Obituary and Selene on all the servers, and map lists have been changing. It's difficult for them to respond to every request.

So I say:

Yeah, I know is hard, I'm just sugesting some new thing if is possibile and not to hard for Obituary and Selene. 
They are making a great work anyway.

Adding fueldump or oasis would be easy, the problem is they are extremely rushable. In my experience (and I admin here for years) is that whenever we put them on, they are being rushed in the first 3 minutes. I like those maps, but our gravity settings kind of exclude them from being used.

We run an extended version of goldrush (also a regular map), I know battery can be rushed in the first minute as well. We could use railgun perhaps, but it's never been very popular. We used to run summer version of radar and it may be brought back again at some point.

Yes they need a lot of mapscript work to make them unrushable. Basically you have to create invisible walls all over the map to block people from rushing... or set the gravity to normal (which I used to do for easily-rushed maps like oasis, and people cried that someone hacked the server and deliberately reset the gravity (not kidding they actually did this)).

So send me some mapscripts for oasis or fueldump and we can run them. Thanks

Yeah the guy was a clan member and he was all upset about it... thought the server was being rcon hacked just so someone could change the gravity to make it normal.

I agree that both of these maps are very rushable... I also love and miss them.  Maybe on Fuel Dump just some walls blocking the entire backside of the map (3 should do it).

I wish I could do this myself, but I'm pretty clueless in the programming world.. never mind specific Wolfenstein stuff.

And I applaud Obit and Selene too!  It's amazing that they keep all of this running!  Thanks!
