server shutdowns

Due to our success we are being targeted once again. If the server is off please notify me or one of the asylum admins (if you know who they are lol) immediately.

If you are the person shutting off the server please stop or we will retaliate. Thanks.

what happens to the server?

Someone is remotely killing the asylum beginner server, probably using a script that overloads it with entities (the old jaymod way to shut down a server) or they can do it through backdoors in silent mod.

Its because we get 20 people at a time and other clan leaders feel jealous so they attack us. This happens a lot in ET. Its not worth an emotional reaction. Its one of the many many reasons I switched to silent mod from jaymod.

As you may have noticed, our new friends have blocked us from connecting to gametracker. The server is running fine. We will be upgrading our security soon to block this exploit.

Server is running just dandy, just open the ET masterlist and click one of the asylum beginner links.

I have started multiple copies of Asylum Beginner as #1, #2, #3 etc. They are all clones. #1 has the extra links pointed at it so it should get most of the players. But if #1 is off, or you want some privacy, you can go to the other servers for the exact same settings.

Yep, it's definitely down for some time now.  Tried to initially connect, then tried through master list and was now showing last time I checked.  Thanks for your efforts Obit, appreciate ya!.

Hi, i will restart it in a couple hours after work. I think the server provider had a scheduled reboot for yesterday so it is nothing to worry about.

No i was watching the new star wars movie at the theatre last night with maria and did not turn it back on yet.

Due to the extra security settings I added back in the summer when we were being attacked it is now quite troublesome to connect to the server (default remote desktop ports blocked by firewalls, most rdp apps blocked, only certain accounts and IPs allowed to connect remotely, etc). Which has fixed the porous security but at a cost of blocking some players and making it a pain for even me the owner to connect.

Before, i could just open any rdp app on my phone and get in and do anything. Now i have a daisy chain of apps to connect and i have it blocked to everyone but specific devices (specifically a certain virtual machine running on my home laptop). So we achieved security but only by making access near-impossible even for me.

The server is paid in advance through May 2016 so it isnt going anywhere.

Kool, Star Wars eh?  I hope it was good.  I'm going this week sometime.  Hey Obit;  thanks for jumping through all these pesky hoops to keep this server running.  I'm sure we all appreciate it, even miss priss - in her own limited way.  Oh Yah, Priss, Fernando was asking about you, I assured him you were fine.  His english is not so good.

Is this the page where you come bitch about the free game and the servers that someone else pays for and maintains?  If not, please direct me to that place because I couldn't get on last night and I demand my moneys worth.  KKTHXBYE

Yea I hit some of the F/A servers. Whole different game to me. No flying there, that's for sure. And the weapons suck. They got a lot of cool maps that I have never seen before tho. All I could think is..."wow this map would be cool to play on asylum."

I to hit some of th F/A servers over the last few days to name a few & I agree game is as it use to be years ago , yup lots of cool maps that would be a whole lot of fun on Asylum.
