Specing Problem Empty Specing Problem

Post by Kyubi Tue Apr 09, 2013 7:35 pm

I don't know if it's a new bug or what, and I made sure that others were experiencing the same thing first too. When you spec someone there are no problems, until they die. Then it drops there and looks like it normally does when your in 'limbo' or 'camera view'. It's getting very annoying to type !spec 'name' over and over again. I know we can do Shout Caster but still, not having the !spec command working right delivers a heavy blow to watching a trouble maker or view problems. I hope that it can be fixed soon. Thanks for reading Razz

There is no spec command for silent, so I'm moving this to Beginner section.

I had this problem before. There is a cvar that is responsible for that. I checked and it continues to follow the same person after death. I also checked in the cfg and it's set correctly.

I had changed it last night so players could spec each other more easily. I set it to "7" which allows you to just click the mouse to go to the next player.

We had it set it to "12" which prevents anyone other than admins from using spec, to prevent people from hunting campers by using spec. But since we nerfed the mortar a couple months ago we haven't had the original reason (protect campers lol) which made me set it to 12.

I will set it back to 12. This way it works but no one but admins can use it. No one was complaining before I set it to 7 lol.

I don't know why 7 wasn't working, I had it set to 7 for a couple years before we set it to 12. Oh well.

So... this wasn't really a problem on Beginner? If so then I will set it back to g_spectator 7.
