Can't think of much at this time. You're a lot younger than me, still a pup, so I could not think of very much. Are you married, kids, homeless or gay?

Lonestar.. i am vice president of our chapter (saltcreek ). A.B.A.T.E. is not a motorcycle club it stands for A Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education. we are a political group fighting for our rights as bikers, the right to wear helmets or not, the right to ride where we want. this is not just for street bikes either it also fights for the right dirt track racing /off road because the goverment believes they can limit the use of public and private lands. i could go on about but it might take a day to type it all out

Nothing intended. My hats off to you. My dad and yours would be sooooo alike. My dad often asks how the hell did they ever get by without cell phones or the internet. He says he even misses the paperboy who delivered to us every day on his bike. Hell, that was my first job in the fifth grade. 150 house route. I was just rolling in the dough. And his grand kids and great grandkids are scared of him.

Why don't you want people to wear helmets? Seems like common sense to me. Lots of lives could be saved.

Re: what do u wanna know about me?
You can ride w/out helmet in Texas. Why would you not wanna wear it? I agree w/Obit. Seems a lot safer. Our interstates have the 75 mph speed limits and the motorcycle riders make me nervous. Trying to know where they are at all times. Its a distraction trying not to run them over. I drive a tahoe and it has too many blind spots. I would love to own a bike but then I remember how many wrecks Ive seen and heard about. You stay safe out there Manic.

Re: what do u wanna know about me?
I wrecked a dirtbike once and landed on my head, luckily my grandfather forced me to wear a helmet since I was on his wooded property so I did not get injured.
It hurt really bad, if I had not had a helmet I would probably be in a wheelchair drooling and wearing a diaper for the rest of my life.
My brother wiped out his riceburner with his girlfriend on the back. She wasn't wearing a helmet and she get her head smashed open like dropping a watermelon off a skyscraper. He survived just has a bad back now and gets disability for his own stupidity.
I think if you wreck a bike you shouldn't get any disability. It's like smokers suing the tobacco company when everyone knows they cause cancer. You should have to sign a waiver saying "when (not if) I get injured I will refuse government assistance".

Re: what do u wanna know about me?
Yeah, as much as I would love to ride a bike, I've simply seen and taken care of too many crash victims, to ever do it.
Obit - I like your waiver idea.. Would save us all a boat load of money.

Re: what do u wanna know about me?
its not that, the idea is it should be the riders right to choose to wear a helmet or not

Re: what do u wanna know about me?
I don't think like you manic. Because I think that letting bikers to choose to wear helmets or not will increase the victims and deaths on the road. And if victims increase, who will pay again ??? Citizen ! Taxes will become higher and higher, to pay the policeman, the funerals, etc. I know that it seems a bit exagerated, but in the long term, citizens will always pay for stupid guys. That's my point of view.

Here are some current legislative initiatives from ABATE:
http://www.abate.org/IssuesLegislation/CurrentIssuesLegislation.aspx
There is some controversial stuff in here (repealing helmet laws, repealing age restrictions of motorcycle riders). I support their right to express their opinion of course even if I don't agree with it.
