Re: Why Fracking Sucks
That happens with some wells without any fracking.
Frack more, need that gas for my heat and hot water, lol.
Any industrial process has downsides.
Look up the environmental impacts of underground coal fires that have burned for decades, mountains of slag from mining, strip mines, tons of radioactive spent fuel rods, etc.
My best friend worked as an environmental engineer inspecting cleanups and evaluating ground water impacts etc.
People have no idea.

Re: Why Fracking Sucks
It is from fracking. These zones are too shallow. They mix with the water table. It will always be a problem as long as they produce these shallow zones. It involves a tremendous amount of water. These zones have lots of porosity and the contaminated water mixes. As for earthquakes....These zones are mainly sandstone and sand are not soluble like a lime formation. It does not dissolve or make the zone unstable. It actually makes the zones more stable. It pressures up the zone. Sort of shoring it up like a cave.
We do not need to frac to get this gas. They should outlaw the crap. We will just have to drill more Wells to get to the sweet spot. Thats where I come in.
