Surprise issue on Beginner.. HUNK ALOC ERROR
I am not sure what happened on Beginner Server - It changed from Minas to North Pole around 7:30 ish EDT. It kicked me with a Hunk Allocation Error 262200 Said to go get ETKEY.
But I went on to the Minas Server, the NQ server, and the other server with the new Poker map with no problems.
Cowboy, Dwarf, Kidd91, ScaredyKatz, Italian, Zelda, Hawk, General Hurtu, Esperma001, Fender were on the server...
Won't let me back on as of yet... waiting to see what happens when it changes maps...

Re: Surprise issue on Beginner.. HUNK ALOC ERROR
Hunk Allocation Error refers to how your computer is told to assign RAM for the game. Many players increase their RAM with this cvar:
com_hunkmegs 192
This will go from the default of 56 MB (lol) to 192 MB, which is about the most the ET client will ever need anyway. Assigning more than this will not provide any meaningful boost in your ET client (ET servers can use much more). Some players use 256 MB or even 512 MB but it probably doesn't add much benefit after the first 128 MB actually.
You can add this command to an autoexec.cfg file (put in etmain): seta com_hunkmegs 192
The seta command makes it permanent, since you need to restart it anyway.
I don't know what this would have to do with your etkey though. We have an extra message that comes up when someone needs an etkey, so maybe it was triggered by some related process. Not sure.
Anyway try the com_hunkmegs thing. If you don't want to do all that stuff then just click the "Reduce Lag" button in game (hit V 0 3 I think). This will set your com_hunkmegs and some other cvars that will improve your connection.

Thanks for the help. It was just a surprise since I never mess with the settings. Whatever it is.. it is...
My binds are just tied to the cmds we get being level 3.
