Flight School resurrected Empty Flight School resurrected

We decided to bring back Flight School, in a new, refreshed form:

- I changed the Beginner #2 name to Flight School
- I lowered the gravity to the original Flight School setting
- Weapons have unlimited ammo now
- SMGs have faster rate of fire
- We are running the newest version of silent mod on this server

If it's going to a no rules then we need to make it that you die if you drop three levels rather have to run back up.  Plus it's nice to blow the bots across the map.

I assume OneOldMan is talking about Minas on this one ... how you can jump from the way top all the way to the bottom and not die.  I don't mind that, as /kill can always be used ... of course bots and new people do the whole "run to the top" thing which can be frustrating for the new people.  I wouldn't mind though if there was some damage from falling, I rather wish though that the "panzer jump" would work--so fun in low gravity.

We have been talking behind the scenes about changing it to make it more fun. No rules, more bots to kill, unlimited arty, etc.

OK today I changed the settings.

- The server runs Minas over and over unless you vote for a map

- No spawn protection... you can kill your whole team the moment they spawn

- No rules... do whatever you want

- Game speed is 50% faster than normal

- 20 omnibots instead of 16

- double damage for all weapons

- double blast radius for all exploding weapons

Also dynamite does 10,000 damage.

Satchel does 1000 damage and has 1000 blast radius (normal is 250 and 250 to give you an idea of how much stronger it is).

Sniper shots, knives, and flamers are massively increased...

Flamer can clear the spawn with one sweep now.

One knife stab can kill now.

Headshots are instagib now.

I've heard mixed things about the new settings... some people love it and some people hate it (too much arty for example).

I set the spawn protection back to three seconds like it was before, so people can at least get out of spawn.

I know it's a "no holds barred" server but can we at least scale back the arty just a bit?  Watching it last night allies NEVER got out of the first spawn on special delivery.  It's a fun server to play when you can play.

I made a new patch that turns off the endless "dynamite planted"... "dynamite defused" announcements.

Also I have renamed the omnibots so there are new names to look at. The bot names were copied to Beginner as well (but there's more humans so you probably won't notice it much).

So there's a little bit of progress on improving Flight School.

I'm going to retire this server due to lack of interest (server is currently 129th on the gametracker rating right now lol). It's not worth running on our virtual server.
