Yes, I am very sorry. I hope you had fun while it lasted. I know it isn't fair to the people and admins who were trying to follow the rules.

When five clan members are on the server and it is still stacked, even after all these bans and discussions and countless changes to the server to stop the stacking, it is my final sign that it is time to let go. I am a nice guy who wants to provide free entertainment, not obsess over aimbotters and ddos attacks and map rushers, and ban half my own clan for stacking the teams. I would rather just let it go than become the kind of clan leader that would be needed to keep this clan in line. I can hit a few buttons and turn it off and cancel the account, and solve all these problems, while retaining my integrity and my self-respect.

I will not become the kind of abusive dictator that would be needed to keep this clan in line. I am not that kind of guy. I wanted to have fun not get hate-filled emails every day, and told in chat that everyone hates me, that people are sick of the way I run things. It is really a very simple problem to fix, a few mouseclicks and its over, and I can regain my free time as well.

Love ya, Obit, but not in a weird sort of way.  And I have been totally behind all of your server settings decisions--except I wanted a sniper rifle so powerful it could blow through 3 people lined up and kill anyone in a blast radius (exploding sniper bullets? One can dream).  Thanks for providing a fun place for us for a good long while with lots of entertainment and outlets for our normal life's frustrations.

And thanks to the rest of you good admins, like Selene.  As for you chronic stackers, won't miss you! No, I'm kidding, I'll miss you chronic stackers because you were the funnest to knife in the back or TK!

So that's it? Sad. I really enjoy this server and most of the folks on it. I may be difficult at times, but I always tried to even teams. I was playing just a couple of hours ago. Any plans to let it rest and try again?

Wow Obit Im so sorry I know that must of beena hard deccision for you....Gonna miss playing here, I know I bitched alot about it being stacked either people wise or skill wise but I did notice in the last little even admins didnt give a dam about it. I love the low level gravity and power playing and I dont know of another server like that, so if anyone does pl tell me or Obit Pl Pl Pl bring it back and put auto matic leveling on it!! xoxo

Please add me to the chorus of the disappointed.  The only thing that kept me coming back to this game somewhat regularly was my having stumbled upon FBY Beginner and this group of maniacs who play on it.  I have always admired the way FBY was run, not just the servers but the communication that I observed in game (occasionally) and on this forum.  I saw intense efforts (much appreciated) to keep things balanced, fair to all, and with more thoughtfulness than one has any right to expect from a pro bono effort of this sort.  I always found that my experience with the admins was a net positive by a large amount, and I never thought that any stacking issues outweighed the positive experiences that I had on these servers.  I never walked away from a game because the sides were unfair.  It always seemed to even out long before that happened.  I anxiously hope that this decision is reconsidered.  But if not, it was a pleasure meeting and playing with all of you.  Thanks for everything.

So, Like a fart in the wind, Funboy is gone! It really was a lot of fun. I am sorry that you had to deal with all the whiny little farts that made you decide to kill the most fun server ever created. Thanks for all the work you put into it and good luck to you and all the folks who played here. It is a little sad to see it go. I will probably never play again because regular servers ALL suck by comparison to Funboy. Every time I play on one it drives me crazy because i am stuck to ground and am always out of ammo! LOL Thanks again.

p.s.  at the risk of appearing blithe, it just struck me that the obituary of funboy servers was written by obituary.

I dont have much but will donate for the cause....with shutins like me due to illness this was my pastime.....plz bring it back....accept me as an fby and while im playing u know ill keep it even. Even I started playing on axis & ive always admitted i hate playing axis.....sending u good vibes that u will reconsider and bring it back.

From what I understand, it's not money.  Yes, money would have been nice.  But mostly it was good players and good admins...not good as in skill, but as in making game-play fun while at the same time not adding any drama to real life.  FBY is gone, money would only be helpful for a new server run by a different admin.  Try talking to another admin.

I understand the pain in the neck it must be to keep it running, and I appreciate all the work Obit and Selene have done over the years.  And I'm definitely thankful for it.

But this still sucks.

This has been the only server I've played for the past 7 months since I discovered it. I started playing this game when it was first released, and have spent too much time playing on generic silent mod servers to have any interest in playing them again, which is unfortunate as they account for most of the servers. Funboy Beginner breathed new life into the game for me, and I've grown fond of the players there, and very much looked forward to playing after work and on weekends, as I'm lame and prefer to spend my time gaming. If the server isn't brought back I'm not sure I'll play anymore, but if it is possible for it to come back, I'd love to help out in any way possible and ensure matches are even and fun.

I played her server a few times.  Need a key nd pb enabled though or you'll get banned/kicked.  A lot of the same server settings as FB but just not the same though.

The NQ server is excellent.  It will be a good place for folks to meet up that appreciated the wacky little community that came together.  When I have time to play, that's where I'll be going for sure.

I have had more laughs on this server than any other I can think of. I own several games like alot of others but I kept coming back...because of the community and the server set up. What gaming time Ive had Ive spent here for about a year or two. I will miss it greatly. Obit I was not aware that you were being assaulted via email etc. I try to remember that its a game and precious time to unwind etc. Not take myself so seriously. Skill is good but people are more valuable. Stacking can be a problem but on the other hand getting your tale kicked is very good for you. Its in that moment you fight to come back increase skill level etc. So Obit Im sorry man for the yuck that apparently comes with running a server. I had no idea. Thank you and Selene for all your effort time put in. It made a difference. So many people on here I could never remember them all but I will miss you all a bunch! Maybe Selene's new one will be the place now idk. See you out there .... I hope! Regards Wills.

People are welcome to play on the silent mod servers if they want. I understand most of the FBY players would rather get a root canal than play on silent mod, but I'm done with jaymod.

The clan is gone. I have very little respect for what the "FBY Clan" devolved into: extreme admin abuse and a blatant disregard for the rules. This is why it is important that I switched to silent mod, it allowed me to dispose of the FBY Clan, which I have wanted to do for a while.

Lately there have been more bad bans and complaints than ever so I had simply had enough. The corruption had extended all the way to the top, there were bans that were purely for personal reasons and had no relationship to in-game behavior.

I know a few admins were good, or neutral, and sometimes it is hard to see the difference between a bad admin or one who is just poorly trained.

With silent mod there is no need for a "clan". Now there are just "players". It's far easier to run. It mostly runs itself now, which means less headaches for me.

Seriously though, I am very glad you brought this back. Two reasons; I was locked out from any other server because my start menu was hijacked by FUNBOY. I wasn't able to get a server list unless I logged onto a FBY server, then went back to the list. Of course impossible if there was no server. Any way to get rid of the FBY binding in future? 
I tried uninstalling, and re installing from scratch, didn't work. Had to put in server IP to join anything.

Two, my kid, and I loved playing the other low grav fast shooting server.  Is that one still there?

The new server has low gravity and the PPSH gun has been modified for faster than normal rate of fire and higher accuracy. It is running silent mod now instead of jaymod. 

The new server has been paid for a year in advance so there should be no interruptions.

As for the clan server menu that seems to cause trouble, you can go into your etmain folder and look for the files that look like

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~.pk3

and delete them.

Many clans use these types of files to "help" players return to their servers.

I did not design it to block the master list. If it is doing this that was not intentional.

I am going to make a new one anyway that has the name of the ASYLUM (BEGINNER) server on it an a link here.

Also to explain everything very simply:

1. The FBY Clan has been disbanded.

2. The FUNBOY (BEGINNER) server has ceased to exist.

3. I am running a new server on the IP address of FUNBOY (BEGINNER) called ASYLUM (BEGINNER)

4. ASYLUM (BEGINNER) has similar settings but is using a different ET mod (silent mod instead of jaymod).

5. All old bans and old rules have been removed. This represents a much-needed "fresh start" for everyone. Silent mod will ban cheaters automatically.

6. I have selected a few admins for the new server. I am no longer getting involved with rules and player issues. This will be up to the admins in-game. It is not a personal priority for me. I am not good at managing large numbers of people.

7. I am focusing on running the virtual machines, reducing lag and maintaining security of the host server that the ET server runs within. I will also focus on modifying ET weapons so that silent mod can become more fun.

Thanks for the response. I deleted all the ~~~ only titled .pk3 files to no avail. There were several.
When I opened them up with WORD, they all had funboy at the top along with lots of gibberish.
 I didn't delete the ones that had other numbers, or words in the filename along with the ~~~~. Should I zap those as well? I suppose they will just re download if I get rid of the wrong ones right?

What used to happen was if I logged into NQ, or the other server (cant recall the name, just not beginner), then logged out, I could get the list. It doesn't work that way with beginner.
