Wallhack?

Player seems to generally be an ok sort of player with an extremely high KR and the knack for seeing people before they've come into view. But that's just my thought. 

Two highlights of the demo, at least from my thoughts:
1. Seeing DrPhlox running inside a mountain, tracking him, then killing him upon exit
2. Multiple times killing bots hiding behind clouds of smoke

Be sure you turn this on:
/set r_shownormals 1

If you don't know where to put a demo, how to watch it, or how to set the "shownormals" to 1 ... let me know.

1:34-1:29 (best one, fun to watch, DrPhlox being tracked through a mountain)

Thx for sharing this demo,I agree with you,this guy using hacks.
i hate cheaters and i will start making demos too the next time and posting here.

Thanks for watching, Natural! Did you watch it with the r_shownormals 1 turned on?  Because then it's so, so, so obviously a wallhack.

Sometimes it's obvious when you just play against a person. I noticed with him a few weeks back, he'd start shooting at me before we were even within sight of each other, over and over and over again, I couldn't get a kill in. Then I spec'd him and didn't see anything concrete, except that his "playing style" was only average to be getting such a high KR. When I spec you, on the other hand, it's obvious you've got skills so it's obvious when your KR is high.    And I always like playing with you in game - you're an awesome player.

Just now on talking with DevilHunter. Whatever time this is in your part of the world. He said he doesn't use wallhacks or aimbots, but admitted to sometimes using something that "pushes CVAR." Not sure what that means. His English is iffy so might not understand rules and such. He also thinks that a lot of players are hacking and so doesn't like to not hack when others are hacking. Of course at that point he accused me of hacking   among others. He seems like a decent enough guy, I was just hoping for more of a, "Ok, sorry, won't hack anymore" sort of response. Oh well. Makes it more challenging I guess, and something to boast about if you can get your KR around the same level as a guy who camps out with CVAR hack.

I will take a look tonight. Thanks for the report and for taking the time to post a vid.

I watched it with r_shownormals on and I didn't see any clear evidence of hacks. I saw a couple suspicious shots (a couple jerky motions toward dead enemies in particularly) but not enough to ban the guy over.

As for a wallhack, I did not see him do anything an experienced player would not do.

I also saw him ignore enemies which were behind a wall, for example the axis defender camping behind the fueldump wall during the time DevilHunter was camping the axis spawn exit with his panzer at ~3:45 and later. He totally ignored the guy but he would have seen him if he had a wallhack on.

If he is botting then he would be using one of the newer silent-mod proof ET hacks, which are not particularly easy to acquire (unlike jaymod hacks). If he is using a cvar then that would be an allowed setting that I should probably block server side. I don't block a lot of cvars because I'm lazy and most of them do not confer a significant advantage.

Ok, your call Obit. I haven't noticed him using a wallhack in the past 2 days. The biggest thing I noticed was him tracking DrPhlox through a mountain and shooting him on the other side, something he only did at that point. As for ignoring bots sitting motionless, I noticed that too, but I also do the same thing ... when I'm in cov-op, I often ignore bots because they don't pay attention to me and I focus my fire on the main area where humans are playing. But anyway, your call, and he hasn't been using in the past 2 days anyway.

I'm 100% sure he used a hack because he admitted it to me the next day, saying it was a CVAR and he uses them because he didn't want to be the only one not using them. I have screenshot images of him saying as much, but I don't really care anymore.  The date/time was Jan 11 and according to this forum's time, between 11-11:15 am. But generally, I like playing with the guy, so no more concerns unless he starts turning it back on.
