ban threat

Today an admin warned me with a ban for cheating. Only, I wasn't cheating. I know, I've jumped a wall from time to time, though never to win early. I was warned about wall hacks, which I'm not smart enough to know what they are or how to use it. Sounds fun, a wall hack, but I've never used one. I've been playing for a couple weeks. My stats suck. I'm just an average player. And I know that admins are important to regulate the game and keep cheaters out. I would only prefer more discretion before such accusations and warnings are given. Who likes being called a cheater?

Here are my thoughts as to why they thought they saw a wall hack:
1. Castle attack has a map glitch, if you stand on the tower anyone can see through the wall for those coming out of the steps. It's there, can't help it, didn't cause it, and I didn't use a wall hack for it.

2. Sometimes I use timing to assume where a player is. Two enemies disappeared from playing (I pay attention) for 3-4 minutes. So I assume they're going the long way around and head that direction to cut them off. I also use timing to estimate how long it will take to respawn and get to that point.

3. In some maps, there are natural choke points the player has to come through, so I can wait there.

4. If you listen, you can hear footsteps of people coming around corners, usually.

5. And with the panzer in flight school, you only have to shoot in that general direction of the choke points or timed areas and it blows them up.

So again, I understand the regulation needs, just would prefer the courtesy of not throwing around accusations & ban warnings without merit (though to be honest, they said they spec'd me for a bit and came to that conclusion). At least ask a person first. I know, I know, if somebody is cheating they'll probably lie. But you can at least ask, "Well how did you know they were coming around that corner" and see if the answer is reasonable. I don't hold anything against that admin who told me, and I like playing with that person (they're better than me for sure), but this is the 2nd time I've been warned with that (frustrating to be called a cheater) and I've never used any hacks before.

This is just my input. I assume many will disregard what I'm saying, but I'm still saying it.

and who was that assuming admin who said you were cheating?

... personally, the guys here knew about me because i am one of the worst player they ever seen... but aiming on-fly members is my best, and they all complain that i hit them 100% of the time they fly by... some said i was cheating just because i was precise with my panzer... what a joke...

anyway, we all have our time where the guys think we cheat... just need explanations and that's it!

AsaSiYun thanks for posting. We do not allow bans without a video and two admins agreeing the player was cheating. This reduces admin abuse (unlike many clans where admins ban players whenever they want).

You do not sound like a new player to me. You know too much.

Without a video of your playing style we cannot make any determination of guilt or innocence, so there is nothing we can do right now. If you are using a wallhack or something that does the same thing (there are many other ways to cheat) then please do not use it in the future. You will be banned eventually.

If you are not using a cheat, and feel that you are being mistreated, please send me a copy of your console chat log. Open the console with ~ and then type this:

/condump chatlog.txt

and this will create a text file with the contents of your console, including the abusive chat, on your computer (should be in your jaymod folder IIRC).

Checks and balances with the governing authority here, good to know. Just to say, the admin was nice enough, didn't cuss at me or anything, just stated plainly I'd be banned if I didn't stop cheating with wall hacks. I assume by name what those are but I don't really know how that would work. I'd probably try it out if I knew, where can I get one? I consider my point made and this all resolved.

My crappy score speaks for itself. I'm not a noob to gaming, having played Unreal & Quake a great deal as well as strategy games. Similar principles apply, pay attention to players' patterns, look for natural choke or spawn points, find high ground (how I saw that invisible wall right off on the Castle map). That said, my aim still sucks, and I don't know where half the objectives are on these maps.
