Level 3 Admin Test

In order to get level 3 admin (full [FBY] clan member) on our servers, new members have been required in the past to have a thorough training session on the server. This covered how to spectate cheaters, how to issue ban commands, how to mute, kick, disorient, and move players, etc.

If you have not had training, and find it inconvenient to arrange for it, you can skip it if you can pass the test below. You need to get a 70% to pass (14 questions out of 20). Some questions have exact answers, and others are just checking how you think about situations.

Admin Level 3 Exam

Section 1: Dealing with nuisance players.

1) A new player will not stop shoving his teammates. Other players are complaining in chat about him. What would you do?

2) A player has been AFK (away from keyboard) for the last five minutes standing in spawn. What would you do?

3) A player has been standing on top of the omnibots who are playing the mortar. This makes them explode when they fire the mortar. You have asked him to get off the mortars and he has not responded. What would you do?

4) A player named ETPlayer has jumped over the walls on Minas and taken the objective in the first five minutes of a map. What command would you use to put him to spec so he drops the objective before he completes the map?

5) A player keeps complaining that the teams are unfair, and he demands that someone fix it. What would you do?


Section 2: Dealing with legal issues.

1) A player is verbally harassing another player in private messages on the game server. The messages are in English and would be considered "cyberbullying" in the United States. You suspect that both players are under 18. What would you do?

2) A player has the name “Kill All Muslims”. You are aware that this name would constitute “hate speech” in many countries. What would you do?

3) A player has the name “Smegma”. What, if anything, would you do?

4) A player keeps spamming the name of a pornographic website in public chat. You are aware that some of our players are under 18 years old, and this would be considered illegal in many countries. What would you do?

5) A forum member sends you a private message on the forum with a link to his private music collection. He says he has over 50,000 songs to share with you. You are aware that this would be considered illegal file sharing in many countries, and could result in huge fines. What would you do?


Section 3: Dealing with cheaters.

1) What is the general term for a cheat program that lets players see through walls?

2) What is the general term for a cheat program that lets players shoot more accurately?

3) What is the general term for a cheat program that lets players take over the server?

4) What is the command that lets you see the IP address of another player in your console?

5) What command do you put in the console to record a video of a suspected cheater?

6) What folder on your computer would you find a video in if you had recorded it on FUNBOY (BEGINNER)?

7) You have sent a video to another FBY admin for review. They have agreed that the player named “killer” is definitely cheating and his ban is approved. What command do you issue on the server to ban killer for 90 days?

8. What command would be issued in rcon to ban “killer” for 90 days if killer was not present on the server? Assume the rcon password is “password”.



Section 4: Dealing with other admins.

1) You suspect another FBY admin may be using an aimbot when no other admins are on the server. What would you do?

2) You are having an argument in private messages with another FBY admin on the server about whether or not a player is cheating. You are very convinced the player is guilty, but the other admin does not agree. You are aware that we need admins to agree before issuing bans. What would you do?

Also, please reconsider this guy as a admin. He is never going to be approved by me to be a member of our clan now.

If you are not smart enough to read instructions on a forum you are not smart enough to be a good admin.
