Long-time player..1st time poster

My screen name is MartytheGreat, and I've been playing rtcw/et since 2004. I truly enjoy it and I truly enjoy this server.  I have been having issues w/ my XP saving.  Tried the ET key "fix" to no avail.  If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.  Hope to one day make it into the FBY club.  Take care and happy playing.

Hello.

I usually issue the !etkey command whenever someone who has it not working comes on the server.

Make sure your 'pb' folder is up to date: http://etkey.org/pages/punkbuster/manual-installation.php

Download this and replace your 'pb' folder with this one, put it in your ET directory.

Then, generate an etkey: http://etkey.org/pages/etkey-home.php and put the generated file in the etmain folder (also in your ET directory).

If you've done these things above, start your ET, go to PLAY ONLINE. In the bottom right you'll see the option "Enable Punkbuster". Click it. Then go to MODS, choose jaymod, and repeat (play online -> enable punkbuster).

Then you can connect to our server, make few kills, and reconnect. If your XP stays, it means everything worked

Edit: Just to clarify, I don't require you to have an etkey only to save XP. Admin levels are assigned to the number within your etkey as well. Without etkey it's technically not possible to give a player any level.

For the welcomes.  Selene, I will attempt that fix and see if it works.  Thank you for taking the time to help me out.  I will let you know if Im successful.

The last time I D/L'd ET was from the ETKey site and It installs the key for you.

I swear I've tried this countless times b4 and it never worked.  Maybe new files.  Whatever, bottom line is my XP is up and running.  Now... the arduous task of getting it back up.(That's what she said)
